I Don't Care About Finding My "Tribe"

I'd rather be on the periphery of many tribes than part of one tribe that feels more like a cult.

I Don't Care About Finding My "Tribe"

"Find your tribe" is a common catchphrase touted by those running networking groups or online communities. It's the idea you need to connect with like-minded people, providing support to each other and sharing ideas, knowledge and expertise.

But, quite honestly, I'm not arsed about finding my tribe. I don't want to join a group of people exactly like me (that would be pretty terrifying).

It's not the concept that bothers me. There are some fantastic networking groups and communities out there. And I have no problem with being part of a community myself. I've been part of small and large networking groups (both online and off).

My issue is with the business communities where members have to subscribe to a certain way of thinking or acting.
