Hot Cross Buns, Fairytale-Themed Web Pages & An Updated Freebie

I'm writing this on Good Friday to be sent out on Easter Monday. I expect some of you won't read it until Tuesday, depending on whether you've taken the bank holiday off or treated it like any other day.
My husband is in the office today (Friday), so I've decided to work. I've got a busy weekend ahead, so I thought I'd be proactive and get this email written before I start on the hot cross buns.
If you read these updates on the website, you might notice I've made a few changes to the site menu.
If you don't read these updates on the site, I'm going to take this opportunity to remind you that I also add a weekly blog post to the site every Wednesday. If you want to read any of the blog posts or any past emails, they are all available here (or just click the 'view in browser' link at the top of this email). And the most recent ones are always listed at the very bottom of my emails.
But back to those updates I mentioned.
I've added some new pages to the site because I've added the option to sign up for some of my services directly through the site.
They all have fairytale themes because...well... the site (and my book) is called The Freelance Fairytale.
Stick to the Path: This is my free content (which includes these email updates and the blog posts I just mentioned). The tips, advice and ten-minute tasks are designed to help you stay on track (or stick to the path) with your business.
Brick Houses: This is my group support designed to help you build strong marketing foundations. This includes monthly co-working events, quarterly lunch and learns, and member-only content.
Fairy Godmother: This is one-to-one mentoring support on a rolling basis (my Mentoring Lite programme). You get two calls per month, and unlimited email or WhatsApp support (plus everything in Brick Houses).
I want to make it as easy and affordable as possible for people to access my support because I know it's tough for a lot of freelancers right now. So if you do know any freelancers who would find these emails (and my blog posts) useful, please do send them a link to my site.
Pay-as-you-go co-working
Thursday's co-working event was fab. Everyone enjoyed it and, most importantly, everyone made progress with their projects.
I only have a handful of members right now, so I'm only running one event a month, but my plan is to add more as I get bigger numbers.
If you'd like to get involved with the next event, but aren't ready to commit to a monthly membership, you can book on a pay-as-you-go basis.
My next event is Thursday, 15th May at 13:00-14:30, and you can book here for only £15.
Free Course: Get Copy Confident
Back in 2021, I created a free email course - Get Copy Confident. It's a series of 14 emails covering the basics of copywriting and content marketing. I put a lot of time into it, and it had a good response. But I stopped promoting it, and it just kind of sat doing nothing for a while.
I decided to revitalise it and move it to a new email platform. While I was moving it over, I updated it and added a few extra bits.
If you didn't sign up for it the first time around, you can sign up now. It's absolutely free and there's no catch. You get sent a welcome email and then 14 emails over 14 days - that's it. No ongoing sales messages at the end - just 14 emails full of marketing tips.
Ok, that's it from me - I'm off to hunt down some hot cross buns. Meanwhile, you'll find your weekly ten-minute task below, followed by some chocolate-themed anagrams.

Your weekly ten-minute task
The weekly ten-minute tasks are short simple tasks that should take around ten minutes to complete (although you can spend longer if you want to). The goal is to help you improve your sales and marketing processes.
Completing these tasks won't magically transform your business, but doing one small thing each week to improve is better than doing nothing. So block out ten minutes in the next few days and complete the task below.
Write down three desirable attributes of your ideal client (and three characteristics that are red flags)
You should know by now how much importance I place on knowing who you want to work with. If you don't know who your ideal clients are, how can you attract them?
But our ideal clients can change and evolve - sometimes we decide it's time to niche down further, and sometimes we find new attributes we like or dislike.
Sometimes we just need to remind ourselves who we're looking for. That's why it's always good to review our ideal client profiles to check we are creating the right marketing messages.
So this week's task is simple - write down three desirable attributes of your ideal clients and three undesirable attributes.

Weekly anagrams
Sometimes you need a little break from work or something to get your brain going while you have your morning brew. That's where the weekly anagrams come in.
And this week they are all chocolate treats:
- noble tore
- cheer for error
- skip under riser
- creamed curb eggy
- alter mess
If you are unfamiliar with how anagrams work: An anagram is a word or phrase formed by rearranging the letters of a different word or phrase, using all the original letters only once.
Feel free to send me your answers once you’ve got them all – there’s no prize, but it’s always good to share your achievements. I'll give you the answers in next week's email.
And talking of answers, here are the answers to last week's anagrams:
- maid no rein = Iron Maiden
- dinky flop = Pink Floyd
- loneliest throngs = The Rolling Stones
- flapped red = Def Leppard
- steak whine = Whitesnake
- rain van = Nirvana
- job vino = Bon Jovi
- forfeit gosh = Foo Fighters
- pie six = Pixies
- ample jar = Pearl Jam
Thanks for reading
That's it from me this week. As always, if you'd like my help with anything sales, marketing or business-related, you can book 90 minutes with me for only £150.
